Why did he leave? And why did he return?Originally posted by Gordonator:i have a senior who came back after a few months of resignation.
we welcomed his return since he's a capable person, a valuable asset.
my senior left because we lost a old customer to a competitor. he is very familiar with the customer so i guess our competitor offers him a better deal to come over to take care of the customer.Originally posted by Wanda:Why did he leave? And why did he return?
no way...Originally posted by Gordonator:seems like majority of the people who rejoined their ex-company choose to do so only if the company offers a higher position or a higher pay.
would u have joined back if the position is still the same before u resigned?
Unlikely, since one probably left that position for some valid reason(s), unless the situation has improved (e.g. better boss, higher pay) and the resignation happened not too long ago, then I supposed one can consider if he still likes the job.Originally posted by Gordonator:seems like majority of the people who rejoined their ex-company choose to do so only if the company offers a higher position or a higher pay.

I m still considering to join back my old company .... ><
I rejoined my ex-organization not because of higher salary but because of the job nature. I was posted to a new department with new responsibilities. If they had given me back my old job as an Assistant Manger I would not have agree.Originally posted by Gordonator:seems like majority of the people who rejoined their ex-company choose to do so only if the company offers a higher position or a higher pay.

unless they offer me a higher position + big bucks... else no chance...Originally posted by Gordonator:will u accept it? assuming u are the one who resignned in the first place and you're not happy with the current job?
Went for 3 rounds of interview just like the rest. No special treatment since I have not work with my current boss before.Originally posted by Gordonator:just a question for those of u here who rejoined your ex-company. were u approved by your ex-company or u interviewed for it?

Personally, i don't believe in that particular chinese saying. It smells more like ego and pride at stake and overriding what could possibly be a rational decision. If you realized that the grass is even worse off in the next few kilometers and over the horizon after crossing over the fence, are you sure you wish to blindly gallop onwards praying for better pastures?Originally posted by Wanda:Chinese saying goes: Hao2 ma3 bu4 chi1 hue2 tou2 cao3 (spelling not v good).
Having said that, there was only 1 instance when I felt like joining back the same co, in a different division under a different boss, but in the end I didn't.
