like when the company is short on manpower or u are in a middle of a big project or when the customer is comfortable with u and is going to sign contract with the company. these are just some examples of bad time to tender.Originally posted by shinta:when is it a bad time?
if by then still got no job offer, sign ba!Originally posted by shinta:sekali i say i dun wanna sign on the confirmation letter, den they fire me

but in your case, u are still in probabtion. u are not even a staff. u don't even have to worry about anything. if u ant to go just go.

Often, if you can't save your own skin and others' at the same time.. You can do things to minimise damage... eg. if you've really made up your mind, let your close colleagues know earlier. I personally know quite alot of people who tender resignation on probation end.Originally posted by shinta:blehhhhhhhh
my probation ends on 12 may

But if you really have to tell anyone beforehand, make sure those people won't sarbo you in return....Originally posted by Devil1976:Often, if you can't save your own skin and others' at the same time.. Timing best is right after getting pay.
Hang ten 2 mthsOriginally posted by shinta:i'm gettin cheques..
cos my probation will end mid may... at most drag till after may den leave lor.. that is if i tell them i dun wish to continue when they wanna confirm me.
if i confirm liao den leave its 2 weeks extra notification period...
before confirmation is 2 weeks after is 1 mth...
if 1 mth ar very hard to find job de...
provided i can find 1 before my probation overOriginally posted by Ferret:Hang ten 2 mths
Cheque cleared liao then tender loh. Actually its best to look for a job NOW then tell ur new boss u will be available in two weeks THEN u tender
means u already know ur priority.Originally posted by shinta:provided i can find 1 before my probation over
but thats nt the main thing
i wanna cause as little inconvenience to my partner
i dun wan to help train the replacementsOriginally posted by Ferret:means u already know ur priority.
talk to her directly. let her know u will be tendering soon. ask her for what u can do to ease the transition. offer to train replacementetc. But give her time frame lah. like say 1 mth.
Also. can tell them not to confirm you de.
fire lor..Originally posted by shinta:sekali i say i dun wanna sign on the confirmation letter, den they fire me
probation is also a staff mah..Originally posted by Gordonator:like when the company is short on manpower or u are in a middle of a big project or when the customer is comfortable with u and is going to sign contract with the company. these are just some examples of bad time to tender.

sometimes having prepared for so much.. one thing really u wun be able to find out and cannot siam de is OFFICE POLITICS lor..Originally posted by Gordonator:actually it is not good to resign when u are still in probation. it gives people an impression u are not serious about the job.
what u should do is before sending resume, u should think beforehand carefully on what kind of job u wanna do. do research on the company u wanna join as well.
if u get selected for interview, take this opportunity to see the company, understand how they works, the working environment etc.
upon confirmation that they want to hire u, rise all your questions like job scope, welfare, salary etc.
don't wait until few months into the job then regret it.
