  many in my company also worked for 10+ over years. longest being 16 years.

  Some in my co worked over 20 yrs...coz they can't survive elsewhere...i think.
  
  Some work consultants will tell you that they will never look at ppl who work so long at one co.

  If you see any long term employees who have been with the same company for 10 or more years, chances are, they will not be able to survive at other companies. Since they are already "kings" and "queens" at the present company, why leave to become a "servant" at another?

  in goverment sector, they make sure those high managers don't hold on their position for too long. they will make them step down or retire so as to make way for others to take over. the one forced to step down will either come back as advisor or take his retirement money and shake leg at home.
