You have a smart manager but not a very empathetic officer.Originally posted by Gordonator:here's 1 of my stories.
we have a new officer from the senior management. basically he's the 2nd in command. when he came, he extended my department's operating hrs from "8.30am to 6pm' to "8am to 7pm". reason being our department take calls from customers and he wants us to extend the hours so that we can takes calls in case customers calls early or late.
but the truth is, not many calls comes in between the 8am to 8.30am or 6pm to 7pm period. even if calls did come between these timings, the call will be routed to a special handphone which one of us from the department will keep.
so seriously i don't see why we must extend our working for this stupid reason. but since we are small prawns, we couldn't sound it out to him and have to lan lan suck thumb.
but luckily, our manager came out with an idea to solve this. 1 of us will come early at 8am and gets to go back at 5.30pm, while 1 will stay back until 7pm but can come in at 9.30am.
ya. thanks to my manager, we don't have to work 8am to 7pm.Originally posted by kaister:You have a smart manager but not a very empathetic officer.

Whenever a new boss joins the company, he will most definitely be very on the balls and come up with a new set of rules on how the team/company is to be run.
this is where it affects us, many of us might already be used to the old system then suddenly of the blue this new boss just come out of nowhere and changed the whole system.
