*Cyber Hi* to Kenashi...
I believe for budget airlines, the earlier you get/book your tickets, the cheaper it will be so if you are planning to go in Aug, you should be already booking your air tickets now la... (*~*)
For reference, i booked mine in late Feb and together with Hotel Accommodation [the boutique hotel is quite new too, in business only Jan 2007], i am paying a total of SGD479/=. Of cos this will not include spending money like food, shopping, as what the others had shared on this thread...
There are actually lots to do in Bangkok other than shopping [of cos main attraction is shopping la]. Food, massages and tailoring is good too.
Regardless, if anyone keen on shopping/food/tailor tips, i can recommend, not alot though, but definitely a few lah.
Tailoring on replicas is especially good eg. if you have a favorite pair of pants, shirt or dress, you just need to bring it to the tailor and you'll see, apart from different material, print and color, exactly a same piece staring at your face at the end of the day! The last i went, in May last year, i tailored a male's pants for less than SGD50 and a man's shirt (2-thread fold) for less than SGD30 and mind you, for this price you pay, you are not getting inferior quality that you can find at "pasar malams"...
A foot massage, with occasional shoulder/neck massage thrown in, costs only THB199...
For ladies, a complete set of manicure/pedicure nail art [meaning all 10 fingers and toe nails] costs only THB399 when back here, you'll probably need to pay SGD140 for same...
Hope this information will help in your decision, :-0

air con, bed, room service, tv, fridge, toilet.
basically a very basic hotel room.
BUT far from shopping centres and jams which suits me
Sorry i forgot to add that this price that i am paying SGD479 is for a 4D3N trip...

not exactly, I am trying to get ticket 1 month before going and when there is a promotion.
Now there is no promotion hence I can afford to wait it until the 1 month deadline draw near, there is no major price difference btw booking now and 1 month before going.
I will be taking them for thai whole body massage.
Should be around 300 baht inclusive of tips.
i recommend one hotel..behind ASIA HOTEL...SAMRAN PLACE...cheap lah~~

and you mean even if you book 1 month before, you can get cheap air tickets? wow! you are very lucky... half the time i make the bookings, it appears more expensive than if i would have made the bookings earlier. maybe also because i don't have the time to always keep checking out for promotion lah... next time i'll ask you for help! hahaha!...
whateva decision you make and if you guys really make it to bangkok during the 21st weekend period, let me know and i'll catch up with you people lah [zodi has my number... (*&*) hope to catch you soon,,,

The cost is around $76 a nite to be shared by three person.
I stayed there b4, cheap and quite gd for a budget hotel and it is near the night market and nightlife.
