Yes, I've heard of him, but this was years ago and I didn't really pay much attention in a professional sense because he wasn't a psychologist. The way he works is interesting, though.
Oddly enough, Snyder is one of the few people who reflects what a PhD is supposed to be about. If you notice, PhD titles never have a particular subject (e.g. engineering, physics) attached, because it is supposed to reflect the holder's ability to make intellectual sense of any topic, and not to reflect specialisation in the subject.
Snyder's interesting because he tends to use his conceptual abilities, instead of falling back on a knowledge base. he could be a case study in Spearman's
g, the concept of general intelligence that has yet to be made measurable.
