Hmm - been there and I didn't really get get jealous. There was a "Hey, what's he got that I don't" factor, but what got me seeing red was that she didn't hold up her end of the bargain.

It's cool - I evened the score well and good. She was in Germany and I was in Melbourne, but by the time things went south, she had sent £500 worth of books over because she had been planning to join me in Melbourne. Anyway, she asked for the books back and I said, seeing as how I couldn't trust her as far as I could throw her, she had to send me the postage money first.
I got the cheque for $120, spent it all on booze and gave the books to my friends. The ones I couldn't give away made a nice fire in my fireplace while I was having a great party with the booze. Not a bad score - I got booze, a warm living room and a lot of happy friends.
