For those who are using BitTorrent, do you use any other clients other than the original one?
I've used Azureus and and ABC. I prefer ABC as its signature is lighter; Azureus runs on Java and is resource heavy.
How about you? -
I use the experimental one, allows me to adjust the upload rate.

Anything which minmizes my upload to 3kb/s is a major advantage. The more you upload, the more you download theory, frankly I myself find it a load of bull.

Confused new bittorrent user here. I tried my first download with the original and a 340mb file took almost forever! Next morning, I looked like a panda
Help, experts ... should I get ABC or bitcomet? Would I need to uninstall bittorrent? How? Think I will need idiot proof guide

One thing about BT downloads is that you don't sit in front of the comp and wait all day for it to finish d/ling. The speed varies on the file's popularity. You can have 4378 seeders and 10489 leechers and you'll still take a bl00dy day to finish a 270mb file.
Use bitcomet, it automatically sets the more advanced ports(UPnP) if you don't know how. And for the more advanced users, they can set one specific port to listen to. -
dunno how to use leh... tried to DL something wif that.. but it just takes FOREVER.. finally down to 0kb... then i gave up...

I share your pain, it does take someone with a little more experience to tell you how. Thats how I grasped the ropes as well. Even the most experienced users will come across files that simply don't move a damn bit. so far is the best for me and my cable friends' users
Audlene, u need have to have a tracker and seeds to achieve fast transfer speed -
Here is a super short cut guide on how to do it:
1) Download the .torrent file to your pc and open it from there.
2) Make sure that you pick a file that is seeded.
3) Select a place on your harddrive where you want to download the file to and click save.
4) Firstly, the bittorrent client you use will allocate enough space on your hard disk for the file you want to download, this can take a couple of minutes and of course make sure you have enough hard disk space.
5) When finished allocating, your client will try to connect to the tracker.
6) Only worry if you haven't started downloading after 20 minutes or so and you still get error messages.
7) If you decide to stop and shut off your pc for the day, then just close your client.
You can resume a partially downloaded file, just save to the same folder.
9) Make sure your client checks your existing data before it starts to download (if you download a single file, save to the file on your HD. If you download a folder with several files, save to the folder that the folder with the files is in on your HD).

A nice place where you can get .torrent files to download Hong Kong movies... including AV, too.

i normally used take
20min per anime --90-100mb
90-120min per movie -- 300-400mb
THE GOLDEN TIP FOR BTing = try to download new movie , golden time for new movie to BTing is 3-7days.

Does bitcomet leave your computer open to unwanted 'visitors'? If I'm not downloading, will other folks still be uploading stuff from my computer? other folks will also upload the files if you dont close the BT box. -
