Are LAN shops worthwhile?

  With the rise in the popularity of magix and SCV cable modem, are LAN shops worth our money?
  
  Games like COunterstrike and QUAKE, UT are made so fun through such wonderful high bandwidth modem plays. With the drop in prices of high bandwidth services are LAN shops still worth our while???

  yah, it would simply be more fun to play with one group of friends at a same place rather than to play at home..

  Yup,playing with a group of friends where you can curse and swear and laugh at your silly mistakes is better than playing thru cable modems where you don't enjoy the camaderie of a group of people playing and enjoying themselves together
