Its true so far. Most of the computer stores in Funan have either stopped bringing in Half Life and Unreal, or they have remove the games off the shelves. Cyber cafes have stopped letting people play the game, until the ban is revised, or they find some clause or such that gives them a loophole to exploit.
Crazily enough, most of the original copies of the game have been snapped up when I went looking.
Personally, I think that parents are dumb. Literally. I mean, think about it, parents almost ALWAYS act as if they know things better than those who handle, operate computers EVERYDAY. I'm reflecting from my 3 week argument where I literally had to fight tooth and nail for my new computer.
Basically, my parents think that I know absolutely next to crap about computers. Things like "Yah yah, you're BETTER than those that work in Silicon Valley." type of crap. I find such mentality being really irrate.
I mean, what makes them think that games like that are too violent ? Its not like we have gun shops lurking around every corner of the neighbourhood.
Basically put, the government is just trying to appease the supposed public majority. Its ridiculous actually, since eventually, WE will be the ones that will consist the majority. Maybe we gamers should protest or soemthing in front of the parlimentary building.
