simmering is gentle heat, and simmering soup is different from boiling something.
ya but in that story it says the water boiled to evaporation already and the woman still left the fire burning for 8 over hours, the rice maybe never cook but her house probably cooked alreadyOriginally posted by the Bear:ahh.. but with patience, you CAN boil something for a long time
just add water.. like soups.. just keep adding water or stock to compensate for evaporation...

I was trying to say that it's too fake to be trueOriginally posted by the Bear:good god you can be literal..
sheesh! it's a legend!
Originally posted by the.raven:I was trying to say that it's too fake to be true
No....Originally posted by the Bear:it's a legend... taken with a pinch of salt..
however your story about the "stupid kid".. you've been hoaxed..
other people, who share the views that the people in the news are stupid, added it.Originally posted by the Bear:oscar is terrifying????
btw, it's supposed to be a journalistic thing.. reporting the news...
since when they put in stuff like "added to make it funny"?
Originally posted by the.raven:other people, who share the views that the people in the news are stupid, added it.
the original version of the news is in that link, have u read it? everything is the added version is true except for the added stuff, of course.
you can say you agree, which any sensible person would after reading such a strange piece of news about a game ad angering someone to such a drastic extent.Originally posted by the Bear:what can i say?

cool it....i got it from SPI there lahOriginally posted by the Bear:no.. i can say i disagree with the stupidity of adding things in credible news that turn the news article into a joke...
news must never become like the tabloids like News of the World... no one believes them...
and the next time you quote news, you'll be ignored as you are seen as the tabloid and of adding salt and vinegar to a mundane but true piece of news...
btw, it isn't about the news story now... how "stupid" the children are, is immaterial... however, how stupid people are who decide to add their 2 cents to the news, distorting it and making a credible story into something to be derided, is the main gist of the discussion now..
you knew, yet you added to it...
is it too hard to be slightly responsible and not add to the hysteria? or make the true news even more unbelievable?
loose lips sink ships... and if you look at how media and stories can be manipulated, you'll see lots of serious consequences around...
in what you have added.. or posted, if someone decides it is real and never checks the sources, they would think that Sesame Street will be potentially under litigation.. and he may act accordingly...
think before you do...

ah bearOriginally posted by the Bear:it isn't about your story now
that one, we know has a bit of supernatural so we can suspend reality for a while...
however, raven's "news" article in another thread puts his credibility in question as he knowingly adds bits and pieces in a genuine news article in order to make it sound stupid.. or at least he just posts what "other people" added and he knowingly posts, along with the "salt and vinegar"...
i'll move that over there
