Physics SPA Practical
Skills Tested:
B - Implementation
Apparatus/Materials Given:
2 500ml Beaker
2 Test Tubes
Bunsen Burner
Electronic Weighing Scale
Kitchen Towel
2 Thermometers
Boiling Water
600g of Lead Shots
Measuring Cylinder
Procedure:
Place 100g of Lead Shots into test tube.
Do the same for the other test tube.
Place the test tubes into the beaker of boiling water.
After approx. 5 minutes take temperature of the lead shots in the tubes. Record this as T1.
Ready a beaker* of 100ml of water and take its temperature. Record this as T2.
Empty all the Lead Shots into the beaker. Record the temperature change as T3.
Remove water from beaker, and dry Lead Shots on Kitchen towel provided.
Repeat experiment for varying volumes of water in beaker*.
Calculate the value of T3 - T2/T1 as T4.
Plot T4 against mass of water in beaker*.
Discuss any anamolous data.

The calculation part isn't really accurate. I can't really remember what was the equation for it but I am sure of the procedure. Well we had to do 6 measurements so it was kinda taxing in the sense some people did not have the time to plot the graph due to poor time management and multi-tasking. But I guess I was dumber than them, I finished 10 minutes earlier than everyone else.. so there I was plotting the graph and manipulating the values but I forgot I couldn't leave my table in pencil. So thats the worst mistake haha.

Those days when we meddled around with Edward Chew and Major Tham in TPJC were one of the most unforgettable times I've ever had. Damn fun..
Sadly everything has changed. TPJC's so different now. No more of that 'ultra bo-chup pon-lectures like crazy' atmosphere... New cliques.. And everyone leaving for better colleges.
By the way, the TPJC 2nd intake has more hunks! ARFGHHHHHHHHHHHHH I just saw one at the bus stop a few days back.

Hey sara last msg b4 I'm off to nus. U don't think of those two hypocrites coz it will make u more angwee k. Take care n when the going gets tough take a break reflect n listen to sum soothing music.
