Just a thought that came: ~
Today I went to play pool with a few friends. It initially wasn't an activity I suggested but since somebody suggested about it, I just tagged along.
Within the group there's a boy who's in his 16. And I was playing a few games of pool with him. I ain't very good in pool and so is he. But we played nevertheless and he did better than me. Soon, he beat me 3-2 in the game and I was like pretty much disappointed with myself being rusty and all.
But right then, he said to me. "It's not a matter of whether we win or lose."
I looked up and something just striked my mind and spirit of calmness filled me. I was feeling relieved and very comforted at that very point in time.
Suddenly, I continued his phrase, "... what matters is that we enjoy the game together."
I excused myself for a while and thought of the whole thing again.
"It doesn't matter whether we win or lose, what matters is that we enjoy the game together."
Same goes for happiness... -
Yea, I realize about the winning and losing thing a while ago. For you it was a pool game, for me it was bowling...
Went out one night to play bowling with a group of my friends, those are really good bowlers. I really enjoyed the game but was losing miserably to all the other pros. So in the end, I guess I threw a mini-tantrum...and one of them said the same thing to me. Told me not to look at the score and just enjoy the moment, the game itself.
Sometimes we pressure ourselves too much with the thoughts of losing that we even forgot to cherish the present moment itself.

ya! i agree.. sometimes juz hanging out with frens, playing a game of pool or simply juz toking, it juz feels so contented.
Sometimes some people juz take things for granted and that so long time is spent with others, it can maintain the relationships. But well, it doesnt at all times ba..

NO matter wat.. pple will always want to be on the winning side. When i play pool.. of course i would like to win.. but it's not possible all the time.. so me being the heck-care sort.. juz let it be.. but i have frens who gets agitated n let a poor game of pool ruin the rest of their day.. taking the things tt r trivial too seriously..

Usually I just ignore these kinda people, otherwise it will spoil my day

I like to stay out of trouble's way, but sumtimes, it is rather hard. Mebbe it is bcos of my temper oso...need to learn how to control hehe...

Dat goes for my billard too...sumtime I win, sumtime I lose...but overall, its e game u enjo dat counts!
Of cos winin is gd! Who dun lik to win! But Winin is nt everything!
Enjo e game is still e untimate prize!!
Sumtimes, I play badly bt still win, bt I dun enjoy it, cos I have play a bad game even though I won e game!!! (Sounds chim?? U will understand it when U feel dat win or lose donesnt matter anymore as long u get to play ur fav game! n u enjo playin it) -

Overall no matter win or lose, At e end of it! It's just a GAME!! No big deal if u win or lose!! It's hw u enjoy urself, do u had fun? -
Same goes for mahjong....as u ppl noe, usually mahjong play wif $$...
N there's a sayin, tan qian shang gan qing(tok abt money hurt e relationship)
Of cos, when cum to $ wise, it's serious business...but lose $ or win $....u got to hav gd conduct....lose $ jus treat it as a lesson, suay, bad luck, ppl more luckier den u!
Win $, u beri lucky, u heng, pther more suay!
Therefore whenever I play mahjong, I will play it seriously, but if i lose, so be it...if I win, of cos gd lah....no point showin a black face n spoil ppl mood rite!!!
A beri gd example wld be studies n exam....U treat exam seriously, cos it's important to u, but when result came, u fail, so be it...dun blame any1! But when pass wif flyin colors, of cos is gd news lah!
Bottomline is, I enjoy e process of e things i lik to do(play mahjong, billard...etc...) At e end of it, it's jus a game, win or lose does'nt really matter much! Wad impt is wad have u learn in e process, did u enjo it?
