Beijing – The Beijing police have confirmed the drug arrests of actors Kai Ko and Jaycee Chan, the son of action star Jackie Chan, said Chinese website NetEase.
The police said the arrests were made on Aug 14 in Dongcheng, Beijing. They said they arrested, among others, a 32-year-old Hong Kong actor surnamed Chan and a 23-year-old Taiwanese actor surnamed Ko. Both Chan and Ko tested positive for marijuana and confessed to taking it, the police said.
Later, the police found more than 100g of marijuana in Chan’s residence and seized it. A 33-year-old unemployed Beijing man was arrested the next day on suspicion of selling drugs to Chan, the report said.
Earlier in the evening, Ko’s agent Angie Chai confirmed his drug arrest, and said he would be detained for 14 days.

BEIJING - Jaycee Chan has admitted to taking marijuana for the past eight years, China Central Television (CCTV) has reported.
Hong Kong superstar Jackie Chan's only son, who was detained last Thursday alongside Taiwanese actor Kai Ko for using and possessing the drug at his Beijing home, told police he had been taking marijuana alone or with friends at home since 2006, CCTV reported in a feature programme aired on Tuesday night.
The 32-year-old said he had his first taste of the drug in the Netherlands, and found it hard to kick the habit, the programme said, citing Beijing police.
Both Jaycee and 23-year-old Ko, who shot to fame in 2011 as the lead in You Are The Apple Of My Eye, tested positive for marijuana on Monday. Police also seized 110g of marijuana in Jaycee's home in Beijing, the CCTV programme said.
Jackie Chan had arrived in Beijing on Monday and was expected to visit his son on Tuesday afternoon, according to reports. The 60-year-old, who was named an anti-drug goodwill ambassador for China in 2009, has yet to speak publicly on the case.
According to CCTV, Ko told the police he tried marijuana for the first time in 2012, at Jaycee's home.
In police footage aired by CCTV on Monday, Ko wept as he apologised for his misdeed.
"I have set the worst example," he said. "I have made a big mistake."
Ko's parents and brother visited him at the Beijing detention centre on Tuesday. His father told reporters he had not taught his son well and apologised on behalf of the family.
According to Taiwan media reports, Taiwanese actor Kai Ko finally met his family members in the detention centre after his arrest last Tuesday for drug use together with Jaycee Chan. Having served six out of his14-day detention, his parents, brother and manager Angie Chai visited him yesterday.
Kai and his mother hugged and cried, while his father told him to take responsibility and face the matter bravely. The 23-year-old apologised repeatedly to those who were present and was sorry for letting his family, company, sponsors and fans down. Kai was also worried that his saga will affect movie earnings (Tiny Times 4) and the reputation of his company.
A Chinese character “Zheng”, which means upright, was written by Kai on the wall of the detention centre, a method he uses to count the number of days he has left in the detention centre.
In addition, The State Administration of Radio Film and Television of China has announced that Kai will be banned from the China media industry. Insiders revealed the ruling set by authorities to be the harshest for celebrities and may therefore end their showbiz careers.
It is said that Chinese movie Tiny Times 4, who features Kai as one of the male leads, will remove his parts in the film before releasing it in cinemas. As filming has already ended and Kai has a considerably large role in it, writer-director Guo Jingming has yet to make a response on this matter.
Co-starring as Kai’s girlfriend in the movie, Amber Kuo clarified through her manager that she has not received any news and will continue to work as usual.
Besides the movie, Kai faced pull-outs from more than 10 endorsements including KFC China. Due to contractual terms, another chewing gum company will investigate the matter before deciding on Kai’s endorsement.
