STOMPer Piqued is irked at MediaCorp Artiste Felicia Chin's statements that Singaporean men think too highly of themselves, are too concerned with wealth and spend their time gossiping about others.
She had made the controversial comments about Singaporean men in April's issue of Chinese women's magazine Nuyou, in their Chatroom column.
STOMPer Piqued wrote:
"Way to generalise about Singaporean men, Felicia.
"For someone who claims to have had 'very few' relationships, she seems to have very strong comments about Singaporean men as a whole.
"She says Singaporean men are too focussed on wealth. This may be so, but I can't help but notice that she prefers older men, so long as they don't 'look their age'.
"So older men with established careers are the order of the day? Who then is the one focussed on wealth, hmmm?
"Younger Singaporean men have to prove themselves, and they do so through their careers. Their measure of self-worth, instilled in them by society's expectations as well as the 'demands' of local women, make them the way they are.
"Can you blame them for being money-minded then?
"If they don't have good careers, they are seen as unsuccessful and local women won't date them. And now she says that if you are a local man who is too money-minded, she won't date you either.
"Isn't she being overly critical and rather 'immature' too?
"I do agree that many local men are avid gossipers though. But really, aren't local women the same?" -

I think the most shallow person in Sg is Felicia Chin.
Right said. What do the women expect? They want to date the most successful and richess sg guy they can. So it is only natural progression that Sg men act this way because of the pressures these women give them.
Sometimes some sg women ah, are very hypocrital, they complain Sg men is too concern with money when all the sg women want is a rich sg man.
