I am disappointed with person incharge of channel 5 these days. They like to break up short movies into 2 parts. Part 1 is shown from 8 to 9.30pm and Part 2 from 10 to 11pm. Then, the news at 9.30pm. Why can't the movie be shown at 7pm or 7.30pm so that there is no need for break up? English News so important? We have news in English at CNA so why must channel 5 have news again. Isn't it a waste of resources. Singapore is not short of news, the other channels already provided the news in differrent languages -
Channel 8 in Mandarin
Channel U in Mandarin - not necessary as channel 8 is sufficient
Vasantham in Tamil
Suria in Malay
Come on man wake up.
That's because nobody will watch the news if they showed the entire movie before or after it.
yes. news IS impt.
If the movie was short, there is no need to break them up.
so that they can go and bathe!

CNA is not all about the news. There are other programmes on it as well (talkshows, documentaries, etc).
And some people just want a brief 30-minute roundup of the news at 9.30 pm instead of having to watch some useless programmes on CNA (Get Real, etc) until the news comes on. And the Channel 5 news has been at 9.30 pm for many years.
The world does not revolve around you. So quit whining and just take those 30 minutes as an intermission for your movie.
treat as toilet break lor

I am aware what CNA programmes are but there is news practically every hour. Therefore, those who wants news can switch to CNA or other channels to view. Channel 5 does not have to carry news programmes. Don't forget we are in IT age, therefore news can also be obtained through handphones, etc
