The Chinese singer’s manager denied the rumour immediately
Is Chinese songbird Faye Wong pregnant?
In recent years, there have been numerous speculations that the diva was pregnant. However none of the rumours turned out to be true.
The rumour mill kicked into high gear again a few days ago when Faye left a cryptic message on her Weibo.
"You wouldn't know until you 2. I had a scare when I 2. Have you 2? I get 2 easily. B2 or not B2," wrote the singer.
This message evoked pregnancy suspicions, which Faye's manager quickly denied.
A little while later, Faye again took to Weibo and wrote, "Come to think of it, my eldest daughter is now 14 (years old)". She was referring to her daughter Dou Jingtong from her first marriage with musician Dou Wei.
Faye had spared no effort when it comes to Jingtong's education. The 14-year-old is schooled at Dulwich College Management International, which cost at least RMB$160,000 (approximately S$30,000) annually. Jingtong is also involved in the school's junior choir.
In August last year, Jingtong and Faye's husband Li Yapeng attended an event in Mongolia organised by their charity Smile Angel Foundation. Jingtong not only sang for the children there, but also played American football with them.
Faye is gearing up for her big comeback this year. From Jan 21 to 23, she'll perform in Taiwan, following which she will hold five concerts in Hong Kong. Tickets for her Hong Kong concerts went on sale yesterday and 90 per cent of the seats are already sold out.
