Why cant MediaCorp be like TVB?

Since we cant beat them, might as well adopt their business strategies and hire their TVB actors and actresses to Singapore to act like Gallen Lo and others.

well stop those dramas about aunties and HDBs etc first :p 30 years no change.

too much propagandistic messages and social risk assessments....lack realistic fervour....
feministic for the most part...and downplay on men via sarcastic and uncalled for remarks but none on women....rather gender biased as well...
on the whole...too much control spoils the 3D life-like effects...
TVB dragmas can be fictitious ...but the skills of producers and artistes made it so real and alive (ignoring political propagandas in the name of "art for art's sake")

And just compare the extras on TVB and those in Singapore. Even their extras are solid actors!

I especially like those scheming TVB drama...
Singapore drama that aims on scheming = BIG FAIL.
And also there aren't bad police around.... only got good police....
I rather Mediacorp make those funny funny dramas like Tuan Yuan Fan... dun do those detective, police or scheming dramas here pls....
Not forgetting the mass exodus of young actor / actresses when Mediacorp did an adjustment on the actors'/actresses' contracts. -
But if Mediacorp do those Detectives in TVB
...... dun knw gt effect bo

But is Tvb standard high in the first place?
I see those tvb actresses mostly grad from overseas and able to speak fluent english...
Somemore join pageant then into acting...
Good eg. like Linda Chung, Ella Koon, Bernice Liu, Fala Chen, etc
Their background is like pageant liao then acting...
Sg is only star search...

Perhaps mediacorp acting class trainers not very good, or the students they have not very good..

They are okay... different taste for different for different people. BUT.... our actor really need to improve. Not natural enough.

The gals are not pretty enluff. TVB girls are all beauty queen. Leanne li, Kate tsui, Bernice liu, Sonija Kwok, Charmine Sheh. Even the part timer or free lance can win singapore actress. Cannot make it. Face too typical singaporean and sorry to say that. No figure and when they speak Chinese like SingChinese jsut like Singlish. HOw you expect other countries people to hear singapore actress speaking to understand? TCS always make drama just like neighbourhood show or sitcom. No standard at all. YES hong kong director. But the actor do not know how to act and second the script fuck up. Producer film for the sake of making a living like that. Must be professional like charmine Sheh and wayne Lai. They like to shoot here and there. very interesting to watch. close Channel 8 and install TVB channel instead so as to catch back the viewer's ratings. I think that time even MALAYSIA people all steal singapore cable to watch the Hong Kong Drama and can hit Starhub and Astro On Demand.

I was quite surpised that TVB show are the focus discuss here. I thought that Singaporean youngster love foreign show like america drama Prison Break, or korean show like 快刀洪�童 etc.Not to forget Taiwan show like 爱 which touch people heart and �湾龙�风etc.In fact I think that Channel U is more focus in lifestyle programme like food and travel to boost viewer rating and drama wise I missed show like Don't Worry Be Happy/敢敢�个开心人 and Under one roof by Moses Lim which reflect Singapore Culture and drama like ���光兰(maybe cos this show is also film in Australia and that Singaporean favourite hotspot :> ) etc.
I think the golden period of producing this good show are gone. Not to forget that even overseas programme like Japan are producing trash like Naruto where people read or watch a uncouth and vulgar main character call Naruto like porn (Not surprised that youngster act like stupid and hooglian after exposed to this garbage). compared good show Japan drama like å�Œåœ¨ä¸€å±‹æª�下 act by 江å�£æ´‹ä»‹ and 酒井法å� which was broadcast in Singapore before and it still be in my memories until now.Yet they are not show this kind of programme any more : <
But the most important point is that young generation nowadays are more into gaming and as they can watch programme online, they didn't really spend time watch TV in front.Therefore it is hard to "attract" this kind of audience if this trend keep going on.

Singapore is a nerd society where the actors and actresses are all woody. Most of them have degree from local university before opting to jump on mediacorp entertainment industry. The O levels and diploma holders who are usually better at acting do not wish to join the entertainment instead prefer to be lab technicians, sales executives, insurance agents, administrative assistants instead.
