1. There will be MORE quality shows.
2. Those who were affected in merger like: Evelyn Tan, Lina Ng, Ericia Lee etc... might still staying
3. Kanny Theng, Jamie Yeo will join Mediaworks
4. There will be FREE BPL matches.
5. Mediacorp will not downgrade their standards
6. Quan Yi Feng might become news reporter
7. Zhou Ri Ba Dian Dang will still be aired freely
8. Pornsak will not go Mediacorp
9. There might not be many freelancers
Help me add on. Thanks.
How I wish Singapore can be like Taiwan, Korea, set up many channels......
tbh
it might not be able to sustain due to financing issues in e long run.

Compare Singapore to Taiwan and South Korea in terms of population size.
Then you can understand why MediaWorks was financially unsustainable.

Repeat telecast only.
the government failed when it tried to introduce another media company to provide competition and quality programmes in sporea. I am wondering if singtel starting a cable tv was a mistake also, seriously, spore is too small a market for 2 operator. thats why mediaworks folded.

it's just like Little Nyonya when TVB decided to purchase e rights.
If the program is from elsewhere, it'll take some time (say 1 or 2 season) before it appears on public TV.

the population is so much bigger many times than spore, not to mention land space.

wtf purchased the rights for? TVB is going to film nyonya?
Due to low salary by mediacorp, Adrian Pang, Jacklyn Tay, Charlyn Lin, Wong Qing Hai left whereas the 1st gens like. Chen Shu Cheng, Jin Yin Jin and Wang Wen Rong still stay on so as to earn their living.
Don't really understand why mediacorp still opens the contest shows like. Project Superstar, Singapore Idols etc....

Rights is because it's produced by MediaCorp Studios.. They own e copyrights.
They've telecasted it

if u ever knew abt the SBC artist classes back in the late 70s and early 1980s. Although it produced batches and batches of good artist, e pool is small.
So now they hope to get it off e shelves, faster to create ma.

Are Fly Entertainment, Wawa artistes network, network artiste and SAFRA considered one of media companies?
Lilin and Allan Wu work at Fly entertainment, Oliver Ong works at network artiste
Whereas SIlver Ang, Kanny Theng work at Wawa artistes.
But have to admit that during the mediaworks days, mediacorp had produced alot of local shows. But after merger, the standard had dropped....
that's because mediaworks is a poor carbon copy of mediacorp...the thing is they got bureaucrats in the end to manage the station instead of creative entreprenurs...the folks who were initally running it were replaced by bean counters and suck ups of the authorities....
If Mediaworks still exists, things will be very different. They will listen to what we like to see, not just always air drama mamas family feud shows for 24/7. No competitions, no improvements. Just like some party here. *ahem*
Mediaworks- lesser repeated shows
Mediacorp- COUNTLESS repeated shows
WE won't have another TV station as long as the old lee lives. He gave instruction for mediaworks to close down citing that Singapore is too small for competition.

I am pissed of with the increasing number of rerun, repeat programmes. We pay so much for TV licence to watch repeat shows, makes no sense.

then why singtel is still operating on cable tv?

Fight for TV viewship rights!!!
I believe if Mediaworks still exist, the percentage of viewership (For Chinese) will overtake Mediacorp (Ch 8) since Ch U is a storong base for Mediaworks.
24/7? Doubt so. If Mediaworks wants to have 24/7 shows, they will have to repeat those 8pm to 10pm variety shows during midnight (Just like current Channel U does, repeat 8pm show at 11.30pm for those who had missed it) They can also boardcast Champions League Live during midnight.

10am to 12pm every weekdays morning (those old dramas), for the elderies to watch.
Those former Saturday 9pm sitcom dramas have been repeated COUNTLESS times at everyday 2pm (I think) and every Friday 12.30pm.
Well, I can say Hi-5 show has been repeated more than 3 to 4 times before boardcasting the new series.

Repeat programmes everyday. Particularly the Mandarin channel and some on Channel 5
That lucas chow is saving money for mediacorpse. He looks a stingy and narrow minded man

As long as you have a TV and radio at home, you are required to pay. Licence fee is $110 every year.
