Former actress Jacelyn Tay has tied the knot with her beau of two years, says Lianhe Zaobao.
In an interview with the newspaper, the 35-year-old said she made it official two weeks ago with businessman Brian Wong, who is seven years her senior. The couple, who made their first public appearance at actors Fann Wong and Christopher Lee's wedding last year, are planning an October banquet.
Tay, who converted to Christianity four years ago, said she met her husband through a friend and they got to know each other better at church activities.
She is an unromantic Gemini and he, a Taurus, is more romantic than her, she said. 'Ours isn't a grand passion. It's the small things in life, such as being with our families and friends, that I find heart-warming.'
Because of his sincerity, 'I believe he will look after me'.
However, he is too busy to watch television and has never seen her shows. She said: 'I'm always asking him, do you want me to play some of my shows for you?'
The former Star Search winner dated actor Terence Cao in the 1990s. In 2005, she spoke of a fiance, but said the following year that they had split up.
