  The other group represented the masses of dialect speaking working class people. This group wanted to make mandarin as dominant language of Singapore.

  The group that fought for interests of dialect speakers lost the political struggle.

  The group of pro-british, english speaking elite won.

  you need to wait for a long time... the last episode in taiwan is 386.. Duration of each episode is around 1h 30 mins over there. In singapore, each episode is abt 45 mins due to advertisment timing. Doing simple math, there will be around 772 episodes in Sg. Think in Sg only around 200 plus episodes have been shown. Not even 1/3 of the total episodes. lol. go and count how long it'll take to finish given that they air 4-6 episodes here per week. haha..

  the part showing on local tv now is oni the tip of the iceberg
  later will have more and more ppl coming out (and some ppl disappearing) and they are somehow related to this person that person
  
  and the story will twist and turn and go up go down
  there will be some things u expected and totally unexpected
  
  
  and hor, the pai lang is relli so pai u will want to punch ur tv one loh!

  it is tooooo long..... how did u manage to watch everything??? I skipped 10 episodes after each episode and fast forwarded it so that I can roughly get the story. lol. I just sort of 'finished' watching it....

  anyway.. wat happened to the an an and tang ke xin part har? how come must add in the tang ke xin and not just let the an an come back leh?
