Since finally tying the knot in a star-studded wedding in Bhutan in 2008 after a 19-year relationship, celebrity couple Tony Leung and Carina Lau are said to be trying for a child.
The 44-year-old has been taking careful precautions as women aged over 40 are at an increased risk of facing complications during their pregnancy. She sought a famous gynecologist, recommended by Sandra Ng who has a daughter, to increase her pregnancy chances.
Carina is reportedly anxious to conceive, but after several failed attempts with different methods including embryo implants and hormone injections, husband and wife are now resigned on "letting nature take its own course."
The actress smilingly refuted the reports last week when speaking to the press, saying that she did not know what the media was talking about.
Before getting married, Carina once went for follicle stimulating hormone injections and reportedly spent HK$500,000 (S$100,000) on embryo implants last year.
