Pressed Powder vs Liquid + Loose powder.
Which is better?
I have oily skin, *blots all oil away...
Any reccomendation for foundation?
I'm currently using Clinique (liquid + loose).
Looking for something around this price range.
Heard alot about M.A.C, what are the price like?
Seen my classmates using Loreal, their skin look matte and nice.
I've always feel that Loreal products are not very good.
Maybe I should change my perception... -
im only using bodyshop loose powder now....for work.....
wanna cut down on the stuff i put on my face
so no have liquid foundation unless it's for something relli glam
i used to use clinique oso
both brands are ok to me....
i used powdered blotter from bodyshop for touchup.... -
I swear by MAC.
It was used and highly recommended by my makeup artist.
Tried switching to other brand. But nothing can beat MAC.
It's about $40+ if I'm not wrong (tried looking at the price tag of my own bottle, but dun have).
It gives a Matt finishing, but doesn't look thick (like wayang). It only blends nicely and naturally on your face, to gives you the natural good skin look. Whenever I go facial after work (with makeup everything still on), my beautician will usually say "Hey how come your skin so beautiful today!"
So go use MAC. Yes, it's more pricey than some of the brands. But foundation usually can last for months even if you use daily. So why not?
I have yet to use Bobbi Brown, which my friends sing praises of it. First of all, not many places sell that. Secondly, I'm so happy with MAC now, that I may not want to switch for some time.
I also have friends who sing praises of Shu Uemura. I never use their liquid foundation. But I used their two way cake and UV makeup base. NO good at all. Makes my skin appear dry and unhealthy. Whenever I go to the beautician wearning this, she will push me to buy more skin care products.
"See, your skin so bad. Your makeup doesn't even skin on your skin..." she will say.

i now only use maybelline 2 way cake
if applied with a sponge, it looks very cakey!
the trick is to use a loose powder brush to apply - natural looking this way! -

Liquid foundation for more coverage (good esp if you have alot of skin imperfections).
Loreal ah.. actually I'm using that... I think it's called Cashmere something. It's quite easy to apply even with fingers, because when it comes into contact with your skin, it turns into a powdery substance. The coverage is so-so, but it doesn't make my skin feel clogged or sticky nor does it feel like I've got paint on my face. (i'm still using it cos i'm just lazy to look for a new brand
)
then after concealer i'll pat on MAC's pressed powder. I bought mine at i think $38. -

You can have very nice coverage by applying a little. The sales person say can use more for thick makeup. But so far, I apply very thin layer and it looks very good liao... and somemore very natural. Some colleagues even asked me what is my secret having such nice complexion....hehehehe -
I use both Bodyshop and MAC. Actually, I am hopeless and clueless on make up so don't know very much. All the hype about MAC so I join the Jones and bought it.

who using prescriptives?
im buying from strawberrynet........and the matte finish is S$41
the liquid lipcolor (2 colors in 1 stick) is S$16
how much they selling at the counters here ah? -
I used Bobbi Brown and Origins..
I find Bobbi Brown a bit.. 'watery' leh.. not very easy to apply.. final result a bit greasy...
I like Origins one much better.. look natural.. matte look
Prefer liquid to pressed powder becos.. pressed powder always end up looking very cakey...
and I find pressed powder a bit not as hygienic as liquid. Liquid u use Qtip or squeeze out each time.. but pressed powder.. u put on the pad, put on face oily oily, put back on the powder again, back on face.. especially when touching up and most people dont wash the pad that often either... -
I use a korean brand called Crystia. I was going to buy L'oreal, until the sales lady recommended me this. It comes in a pump bottle and is quite good, smooth to apply, not too thick...enough to even out uneven skin tones and still look natural.

errrr! haha no i mean, for old customers... my sis used prescriptives and bought some more just before they closed. Knowing how lazy she is when it comes to shopping, i think she'll love it if she could shop online AND save the hassle of finding new shades.

I heard great reviews abt Revlon's colorstay liquid foundation. other beauty forums got girls stocking them up 'coz of news of it going to discontinue.
I personally like Covermark extra formula but its too expensive to continue using.
I have combo/sensitive skin with oily T zone. i have always preferred to use liquid foundation with loose powder to set. I touched up using pressed powder or bring a bit of loose powder out for touch up. I find 2 way cakes a bit too thick.
I think whether the foundation can look natural and nice on you or not, very much depends on your skin condition. For eg, past mth, I too lazy to take care of my skin and end up all foundations look patchy on me. Thsi weekend, I take time to put on masks. Woola! those patchy foundations suddenly look ok on me again.
