Speakers humming away still.
CK One standing in a corner,
Books and CDs not quite in order.
Thinking about a great many things,
Not knowing if they're all what they seem.
The remains of dinner I'm still feeling
Morrocan chicken slowly digesting.
Distant sirens wail aloud,
My breathes comes in cold white clouds.
Laptop screen bright on my face,
Sleep is coming with no haste.
My mind is blank I cannot think,
A sea of oblivion, I start to sink.
Maybe darkness will soon claim me,
So I might yet have a brand new day.
A very descriptive poem. Beside reflecting the physical condition of his surroundings, the poet actually invited the readers into his inner world after the second stanza.
You can sense his loneliness & the uncertainties about his situation while reading the poem. The last line in the second stanza i.e.
'Books and CDs not quite in order' might also be indirectly telling us his feeling about the present condition. It really sounds a bit gloomy.
But hey there is still hope as indicated in his last line
‘So I might yet have a brand new day’. Fantastic!
