  she comes and goes and i have no idea where she came from and where she went after...

  My muse is human, she did walk a while with me on life's highway, then left at an exit somewhere back.I'm still waiting for her to rejoin me on my sojourn.

  Singapore's my home
  Even when I thought of leaving
  But I've learnt
  Happiness elsewhere may be fleeting
  
  I wander around
  To places and roads few travel
  I stop I smile
  Coz I can't help but marvel
  
  I stroll around
  Arab Street with its minarets
  Stop for some sheesha
  Or some of their fragrant cigarettes
  
  Places like Changi Village
  Call to me with their quiet serenity
  Reminding me of how we can be
  Quiet yet happy in our simple humility
  
  Our shopping malls
  Rival the best on God's Earth
  Oh the hustle and bustle
  Provides joy and mirth
  
  There is so much more
  For her citizens to do and see
  Yet so many fly off
  Seduced by promises and what may be
  
  But this citizen has found
  Contentment's elusive key
  For one is only as happy
  As one plans and decides to be
  
  So for now this soul
  Will call Singapore his home
  For happiness can be found
  Wherever he may roam

  Ah…. Long time never read a ‘Singapore’ poem liao. I think it will be a good idea to organize a poetry competition next year @Singapore 40th Birthday.
