Poem: Elysium Brick.

Elysium Brick
Your face surmounted by
stately palms that
bear stoic witness to that
infamy of men and coins,
brought about by society's bit*h
and her faceless pals.
I see the builders.
they rip and they tear,
as the desecration goes on.
One pillar is no more
and my psyche, it swings anew.
Wither it not a strange deed
for a hall of lore,
shall be crafted
but it hath no foundation.
Thus your framework is but
a ghost.
A wraith which deigns to honor us,
with the adulation of the world,
but with the backalley snippets,
of one who seeks water
but dies trying. -
I like poetry that has some elements of Greek mythology. (But not in excess lah, just a bit will be nice) For info, Elysium is the place for hero and heroine after their deaths.
After reading so many of your poems, kind of get used to your style.
Beautiful written, excellent flow.
This poem reminds me of the decline of Art in modern society. This is how I interpret it.
