It took me a long time to comment on this poem. I could have just make remarks like ‘Beautiful poem, well written, etc.’ but I decided not too.
IT IS an excellent poem, there is no doubt about it. I love the last stanza
‘I stand stoic
Silent in the hurricane of tears.
A lilac lily spins past me
The gleam in the lint of doom.
Do my eyes tear by dust
Or sadness?
I smile, cry not for me
But for the friend I knew
And the girl I still love.Â’It reminds me of King Lear standing in the mist of a storm, challenging the forces of Mother Nature. (Of course in King LearÂ’s case in an extreme manner) Simply breathe taking.
But what is actually this poem about? I really could not pinpoint my feelings to any single direction. Maybe that is the whole idea of this poem, boundless.
And thatÂ’s what I like about his poems.
