Velvet Pain

Will the still night
echo the crack of a
whip
placed cleanly
on the lined scars of my heart?
The lush ermine passion flow
ravishingly through the
smooth neighbourhood.
Seen by millions
on global broadcasts
except they are
just microns apart.
Or shall the velvet
ridges of years past
and sworn to memory
be the comforting quilt
I have etched amorously
over the ages.
Might that come close
to fraying, only
for you to mend
the threads and make
me whole
again. -

the thing I like about your poems is that they are so different from the others. You are very comfortable with using imagery to describe your feeling. You have a very unique style.
