An Old man's Rain...

Morning... A wet weather... I stood by the door as the train was about to stop... Bringing me to work... Just another day...
Then the floor... It's wet... It's insignificant... I traced the water to its source... Its owner...
An old man.. In a jacket... In a trousers obviously too small for him... Stood by the side of the door... Expressionless... All wet...
The air-con blew on me... I felt the chill. I looked at him.. He didn't move a thing... His thoughts seemed stagnant. I looked at the floor.. As if it's drawn out of him... Together with it... I saw his hope... I saw his energy...
He's not dead. Could be worse than that? What's the coldness compared to the 'emptiness' inside of him? Hollow... As that's what he seemed...
He don't seems much affected by the way I looked at him... I wanted to take a step closer... The train came to a halt. I walked.. Off to work...
It's just strange... That this old man and his rain kept coming to my mind.... -

I think it's not just an age factor... It's the society.. The outlook and down trend... Repeatedly mentioned that people of a certain age are often automatically selected to be out for jobs... Just had a talk with a friend of mine who tried to commit suicide... Outlook in life is bad enough... Just a tiny 'push over' landed her where she is now... But with the kinda life we're generally leading now..? You work like a cow just to stay alive... Then you wait to die... You're not good enough you just get 'kicked out'... No wonder many have started to think that life is really aimless and meaningless... No wonder people with no firm strong mind just starts to die off...
Is this 'natural selection'? It's so saddening... -
