Recommendations for reading?

I'm planning to read up more on the economy, but I'm not exactly which magazines are a good read, besides "The Economist".
Also, does anyone have any good recommendations for both fiction and non-fiction books? I thought a biography might be a good read, but I don't want to end up buying some really boring one.
Has anyone read the King of Torts? Been seeing it at the top of the bestselling novels' list... or is there another book anyone can recommend?

But now that you mention it, I'm reminded of all those Chinese stories that I read, you know those with big pictures and English and Chinese printed under them....

Since you mentioned journals like the Economist, I thought you might like some business books.
This is one book on how Nissan was turned around by its CEO Carlos Ghosn. Nice read.

If you are into fantasy, Robert jordan's Wheel of Time series is good, even though its quite confusing at times, due to so many names that are similar.
For humour, try Douglas Adams Hitchhikers series, witty and satirical. Had rarely laughed out loud when reading, but couldnt help it at times when reading the series. Some parts are quite corny though.
Other recommendations are the usual ones like Salinger's Catcher, Heller's Catch22, Orwell's 1984 and many others. Really depending on what genre you are into. Just my 2 cents. -

try the book i just finished... Fast Food Nation... and look deep into the cost of the all-american meal of burgers and fries..
i read a wide variety of books.. maybe you'll just tell me what you'd wanna read, and i'll see if i have some to loan to you -
