A war we will win - A dedication to migraine sufferers
arwenju
My beloved fellow migraine sufferers, just to let you all know that You Are Not Alone, with a poem I wrote.
A War We Will Win!
Like an army of slash hammers Pounding on our skulls Shattering them into a million pieces And trying to conquer us all
Ravaging at us with such load How long more will it attack? Our brains might just explode Will it stop when our heads crack?
We all know what it's about As we lay in bed and grunt To have our heads turn inside-out And outside-in and back to front
Struck with such torment and strife Confiscated of our energy and joy No tolerance for light or any noise An enemy that has come to destroy
Why does it come at all we ask It is indeed not needed anytime Gosh, it makes our life such a task Whatever we committed that was such a crime?
The feelings that follow the initial sting Causing us emotions of sadness and frustration A pain so intense and so throbbing We do not deserve this unreasonable punishment!
Begging for relief while feeling insecure At the most inopportune moment itÂ’s unleashed Each new phase we shall learn to endure We are not obliged to suffer this disease
Vow not to succumb to this curse And to defeat the frightful migraine Or our lives might get even worse If we ever let it win the game!
Searching for relief in our plight Bearing the pain of our constant chagrin We shanÂ’t give up without a fight For it is a war we will win!

That's quite a feat. When I have a headache, I can hardly write anything at all.
