ello everybody....
after a long hiatus from this forum space, I'm back. Nope... this is not a "I'm back" kinda one-liner post. It's just that after coming back and reading some of the back-posts, I can't help but notice something that prompts me to post this....
Basically, like a lot of the others have said here, it's easy to put words together and make them rhyme like a poem. But it's tough to write a good poem. And I can't help but notice that often, writers post a creation on the forum, asking for critique but yet are unable to accept the replies that come back.
An audience's reaction is always subjective.... because each of us experience different things in our lives and hence affect our judgement. Don't expect people to come right out and tell you whether they like it or not. Sometimes, it just happens that your creation haven't struck them in a way that they can decide whether they like it or not. If people say it's a good effort, take it as that and see if you can find some way to improve your work so as to elicit a more obvious feeling for or against it?
In the meantime, keep on writing and enjoy it

tis is one of the reason why it's sometimes hard to get a response after we post our creations... ppl need time to read and think thru the poem... tat being said, if the writer din even put in time to think and write the poem, dun expect fantastic reviews...

Another observation from this little episode....
At least take some time to read what the post is about before typing unrelated one-liners or pick-up lines.... afterall, this is not Bar forum.

Have never been good with descriptives, even for essay, much less poems without a chunk load of cliches and abstracts in them...

Welcome back Kitty. Yup I have said this before several times. It is not easy to find poets who are humble enough to take honest feedback and that is why most of the time I rather keep my mouth shut unless I am sure he/she is ready.
