Need ideas.

Hello, i've been writing a story recently and got writer's block. I am writing from a narrative pointview and this guy has an imaginary friend. I want him to realise it himself slowly, but my ideas seems far fetched... i guess i'd need some opinions from people in SGforums, esp those with superb imagination ones...lol thx

Maybe one day, he suddenly wake up, and realise his friend is missing?
Then the next day, he found his imaginary friend again. He got suspicious, and decided to find out more about his friend... and in the end realise this friend doesn't exist. -
pple see what they want to see .......
imaginary friends appear becos pple feel lonely or needed someone who understands them .......
slow discovery could be due to pple trying to take their friendship to the next level ........
am i making sense?

he could be blind and one day he bumped into his imaginary friend and then he realised they both blind. they start swapping notes about themselves and then realize they both share other similar characteristics, which finally leads him to the blinding (sorry, fave word for the day!) conclusion that they are the SAME person! ta-dah!!!

Well you can try writing from the reactions of those around the narrator. Or how his "friend" is always around him, etc. -
i think DP gave very good suggestions....
on the extreme, well he fall in love with his "imaginery friend"... then slowly realise his friend has no family, no backgrd etc etc?
if his friend also guy, then it's a gay story?

Sorry nvr check in here... i finished the story already, need to edit it for next draft.
I wrote it from a first person viewpoint. From the start to the end, i made readers have this strong perspective that the writer is a guy, but i gave little hints here and there to suggest its a she.
Its more of a lesbianism story and i set it in singapore, added some feelings of "resentment" for same sex love to portray how alot of us are still not accepting it although we say we do. -

In the end.. HE IS THE IMAGINARY ONE...
