The Cashier
She returned after getting the change she needed
and the customers-in-line slashed her with glares
of where have you been for the past five minutes
of my precious time ;as she counted through
the heavy stack of fifties: change for the thousand
dollars the asshole paid for his three-bag $40.55
groceries, the silent knives broke into softer sighs. -
you were in that line, ah?
a nice slice of life. -
Beautiful, Liz! (sigh!!!) I'm guilty of those knives...sometimes

Yeah, really happened. I was third in the line.
When I saw the change she was counting out, I realised what was happening. Poor woman was a bit trembly handling all that cash. I never knew people would pay with such a large note.

Did you notice any suspicious looking character trailing her afterwards?

Wasn't a woman who paid the thousand, was a man - ah pek. He was a bit strange though, carried around a cardboard box, I guess that's one way to save plastic bags.

Pity these old people.
They rather carry their entire life savings by their side, thinking that it is safer. No need to worry about banks collasping or economy going into recession.
Yet, they forget that this will attract robbers and money will inflate after a period of time. -
i would thot the knife will change direction to the ah pek instead
i've seen such ppl b4... and not OLD ppl lor... machiam trying to flaunt like dat... pay with $1000 bill when her purchase less than $50 *grumbles* -

... Well, they should be prepared for cases like this since this is not unusual. They should have called for assistance instead of changing it herself. Some stores does that.

as a business, it's not good policy to reject business or money. U have to be prepared for eventuality. Same like how sometimes when i take taxi, i get quite cheesed off when the cab driver tell me they dont have change for 50 bucks and then tell me to go change the money myself first and then pay them.
