My latest attempt at writing christmas poems.
Christmas at the mall
When we were just children,
we used to marvel and covet
the piles of presents hoarded under
the lofty dressed Christmas tree
in the center of the mall;
we thought they were real,
....................................we thought
they were free for the taking.
When we got our hands on one
and tore it open, and saw that
it was just an empty cardboard box
wrapped up in gold shiny paper,
.....................................we wondered
who would be so cruel
as to falsely decorate Christmas. -
And the red packets they used for decorations on Chinese New Year, i thought theres monies inside...wahahahaha -

Santa under scrutiny
Who is this Santa, who is this old man
whose facial features is hidden by his overgrown beard?
He appears every December with his signature ho-ho-ho,
(who laughs like that except the sinister?) sits
on a grand wooden chair on a stage and parents
(whose senses seem to have gone on vacation) line up
with their children, those innocent unscarred faces,
to go to him and let the little ones sit on his lap!
They stand below and watch the fat fuzzy manÂ’s claws
grab hold of each child as he asks them for their name
and what they would like for Christmas, then after 5 minutes
of whispers and his hands around their shoulders or across
their legs, he gives them a present from under a plastic tree,
then he sends them back to their parents with doubtful
looks on their faces. The ones that start crying as soon
as they see him know better. -
