I rarely find a poet who impress me with their style of writing, breadth of thought and creativity. And yet, when I chanced upon Floot's blog one day, I just knew I'd found a gem of a poet. Someone who wisely ponders on life's many gifts and shares it in profound glimpses to his readers through his inspiring poems. 'Reflection on Refraction' is one of his recent poems which touched alot of his readers and myself, deeply, with it's lyrical quality and simplicity of the theme: that love changes and blesses us with her touch. I'm reproducing it here with his kind permission.
Hope you enjoy this one and if you love it, please visit Floots and say hi at his poetry
blog .
Reflection on RefractionI lived in monochrome until we met:
You showed me light which hides within the light.
Of course I could tell black from white – and yet
I lived in monochrome until we met.
My prison was the way my mind was set:
Your prism added colours to my sight.
I lived in monochrome until we met.
You helped me find the light within the light.
