From Kenny & Karen
Hello All,
We hope this email finds you well. As some might have already know, we will be staging a dramatised reading of one of Eleanor Wong's earlier works, "Jackson on a Jaunt", on the 26th, 27th, & 28th of October, Thursday, Friday & Saturday respectively. It starts at 8pm and will end at around 9:30pm. For those who don't, we will try to explain as we go along.
The reading will be staged in the bookstore, and due to that, as usual, we are facing seating capacity limitations. It is staged over three nights, and each night we would only be able to take in 25 individuals. Tickets are set at $7.00 each (with surprise Cupcakes [with a capital "C", mind you] & Tea included), eating & drinking starts after the reading (no greedy people tempting our actors, please!).
And before we announce the news of the ticket sales to our customer database, we thought it'd be prudent of us to inform you first. Yes, YOU, you whom we know as good friends of BooksActually. Friends that have seen our ups & downs, and friends that have so kindly burned their wallets & pockets everytime when you come.
Do note that it is meant as a non-profit event for the store, so your ticket price is being used to cover the staging materials cost, and of course, the food. Now, we can't do without food, can we?
Thus, if you are interested to come for this dramatised reading, do quickly inform us so that we can set aside the tickets for you. Oh yes, this earlier play from Eleanor Wong hasn't been staged since 1990, so it will be an interesting outing for everyone who is coming.
p.s.
Yes, we love you burning your pockets for us but, hanging out at the store with us, would have the same happy-panadol-popping effect too. So come hang out, thumb thru the books, re-arrange the books by colour scheme, tease how Kenny is getting fatter nowadays, quote Shakespeare to us, leave your wallets & nets card at home, tea is on us, and we will let you play with our typewriters too!
best
Karen & Kenny
