A space so silent
You can almost hear
The whisper of your sanity sliding
out the space underneath the door,
Leaving behind madness,
With it's hungry gaping grin.

I like this.
Did you compose the poem yourself? I think it's good! [/b]
prayingbudda, thank you!Originally posted by prayingbudda:hey expiringpoet i really like this!
especially your last two stanzas- they gave me a really claustrophobic feeling and showed this nature of despair very clearly. i think your imagery of sanity "sliding" out the door portrays how menancing this madness is really well.
fab job!

thanks brudder...well, despair is a very familiar feeling, although there are deeper levels of despair and it's many-faceted. I always wondered at what level or point of despair would a person reach before he finally gives up on everything and just succumbs fully to the madness/ self-destruction etc. I wanted to reflect the different levels in this poem, so I havent reached there yet actuallyOriginally posted by dsnake1:Hard drugs?
