BTW, I promised that I'll take photos of my dad's typewriters, but last weekend the parents sneakily scooted off for a holiday so i couldn't access their house.

no lah. I was telling some friends about this shop so they can help support this kind of small businesses but they wanted to know more and see photos so i searched in the net and found this link. Yup the logistics is kinda challenging, but i know of some book clubs in KL that are thriving. If they don't do it like that, then it's more like a reading and review club.
IMHO, book clubs are like having reading homework, inevitably you'll have a few who never follow through or can't finish the book, or some people just bowing out because they don't like the choice of the book in focus.
Usually sustainable if you have a like-minded group, like a group of people who all like the same genre.
