  but won't it be great to actually have another book you are interested at, at the same time books you felt waste to discard are given to people who appreciates?
  
  in the article, books which are wanted to be donated to the national library received no takers?
  
  doesn't this makes people puzzled, that the library whom said to publics that they welcome donation of books actually chooses the books they receive and rejects those which they believes not popular by many??

  I'm not surprised the library rejects books they think are just going to be left on the shelf, or if they already have a few copies in stock. The library is not a place for infinite storage of books.

  Just post the book you want to exchange here and those who are interested to exchange can post theirs under the same thread. You can even write a review for those who are not familiar with the book.

  If you want you can also exchange your VCDs, DVDs, CDs, etc. You can exchange them here, start a new forum or maybe even here in DPS (S) since most of us love books and music.

  I dont mind swapping cos I'm so absent-minded I tend to buy the same books twice
  
  I've got a Jeffrey Archer and an Anne Rice and a Kazuo Ishiguro to swap with anyone who has a Christian Jacq Egyptian series

  I keep most of my books for myself too. But for a few of them I have no idea why I bought them at the first place.

  Is Christian Jacq's Egyptian series any good?? I was rather hesitant to pick it up in the stores because some authors tend to over-romanticise things when writing fiction based on historical characters....

  I like it cos I've always had this fascination for Egyptian history/civilization.You get to read about the kings and queens, egyptian gods and myths, medicine and science, politics and wars then - pretty engrossing
  Bras Basah bookstore (2nd hand), i think on 4th flr was selling 'Black Pharaoh' for $2 the other day. Not sure if it's still there but if you're interested...

  I don't have it, but I know where you might be able to find a cheap copy. I saw a copy at Sunny Bookstore at Far East a while back. You might try looking there if no one online offers.
