I was quite amused to find that the discussion touched upon me--I am the Hari Kumar
I am glad you found my reading interesting. Do buy the book, since I hadn't read the more interesting parts of my story that afternoon
And one more thing--We have a group called Writer's Connect. We meetup every alternate Thursday (evenings 7:00 pm) at the Earshot cafe, Arts House and workshop our original work, be it prose, poetry, whatever. The next meetup is this coming Thursday. You are most welcome to attend. It's very informal and free. We have been meeting regularly for the past two years and have about 30+ members (on an average, about ten turn up on any given evening). We also have occassional readings too. Since there are published and unpublished writers in our group, the exchanges are quite useful. Even if you don't have anything to share you are still most welcome. If you would like to be in our mailing list, do send me a mail at hk11 at gmail dot com. It was actually based on a global online contest organised by a very popular Indian portal, called Sulekha in 2005. There were as many as five thousand entries from all over the world. The first shortlist of sixty was formed based on feedback from over a million readers around the world. The final list of twenty six that made it to the publication was chosen by a distinguished panel of judges. My story, "The Man Who Married a Tree" was one among the 26. Last week I received a copy of the book. It is not out in Singapore yet, but I believe it would soon, since Penguin has the World Rights.
