I dunno... but i read the few you've posted here and most of them sound more playful than conjuring a strong image in my mind. watch out for the over abundance of cliches and the temptation to play with words too much... -
i would've posted something for the poem competition..but i don't think this is good enough:] got a lot to improve on:
Long shadows play along the ground
The sand between our toes
The whistling of the wind in our ears
As words don't play a part in what we say
More of the feeling of the moment
And the vast beauty of the coast.
Breaths intermingle with the salty mist
As two hands grip each other tightly
And as the waves tickle feet, once dry
Time was an eternity
And light was our salvation
That summer
With my grandpa and I. -
ah, time to break of this long hiatus with more nonsense...
orange leaves on the sycamore tree
the violet hues of the morning glory fade
and wind settles into a melancholy tune
amidst fog figures move silent, unknowingly
no regard, no words spoken
hark, a beam of light
the intensity a warmth of hope
look to the sky in amazement, wonder and with blurry fear
only to realise
we're all human -

hi jasonification,
kind of hard to figure what you are trying to convey, but i have a rough picture. It's about a little kid who had woken up from a nightmare of medieval warfare (too many fairy tales?) and his mother came in to comfort him. . Is it?

was visiting my bros...and my 4 month old nephew..now i'm back in school..oh btw, just in case it's like, bad or something...i'm studying in australia now O_O. sorry for the non poems..i haven't slept in 24 hours due to jetlag and i've got a ton of assignments. sigh.

linger no more,
where once stood flowers
now remains barren
due to toxic from the heavens
chilled breath cracks the air
breaking the silence into shards
and leaves nothing but fragments behind
look around you
nothing is left,
where trees once stood
stumps remain
where there was life,
there is now death.
