How do you read???

I'm just asking a question for interest sake... I'm just wondering what happens in your head/mind when you are reading something e.g. a book?
Do you simply see the words?? or do you hear an imaginary voice narrating it to you in your head?? Or do you see pictures / images forming in your head, as though a movie is acting out in your mind?? -
my own voice.

mainly narrations.... my own voice as the main narrator... parts of the diff casts narrated in "their" respective voices....
partly visuals.... the whole scene, props, etc like a movie....
gosh sounds so tiring for me to read!

acting out the scene and fantasising a bit. Feel a bit inferior too cos the characters' life always seem to be so good

Actually I hear my own voice narrating the words, at least most of the time. yes, and images too. -
hmmm... interesting.... usually i hear a voice narrating the story too... interspersed with images... when the action gets exciting... it becomes a series of images for me... that I'm more conscious of the images in my head than the voice narrating the words.... sort of feels like it skipped a process and gets translated into images straight away....
not trying to analyse too much or anything... just that I realised I hear that narrating voice too whenever I write or type anything... so I was wondering whether there's an effect on whatever I write... e.g. for my case, I find that because that voice is narrating in my head whenever I write, I find it easier to write in rhyme than not when composing poems.
What about you guys? what goes on in your head when you are composing poems?? -
As I read, primarily there's a narration in my voice, in my head. Imagery comes second and present mainly during the descriptive sections or parts with lots of action going on.
When I compose poems, I realise narration isn't that significant. And I find it terribly hard to rhyme Maybe I should try reading out more. -
come to think of it, yah when i write (poem or crap), i'm also reading it out in my mind.....

talking about reading, usually i don't visualise it, perhaps it's always non fiction i'm reading. however, there's this book which i've desperately tried to visualise. It's called flatlands - a romance of dimensions. Quite a physics book, about people living in a one dimensional world (not thoughts, but quite literally in physics term)....how they differentiate each other apart is by Length say __ and _____
and they are always moving in straight lines. Now go visualise. =) -

i see flashes of scenes appearing before me and feel whatever feelings the characters in the story is feeling. haha its almost as good as watching a movie.

I do... probably that's why I was skeptical anyone can make a good movie out of a fantasy book.... until Peter Jackson made Lord of the Rings... he proved me WRONG.......!!
