Dear fellow poets, I am glad to announce that the submissions for the 4th Dead Poets Society (Singapore) Poetry Writing Competition is now officially open. Since this is the first time we are having two categories and having gone through some major changes, there wonÂ’t be a theme for this competition. In another word, you are free to choose your own theme, forms, etc.
Please read the following rules and regulations carefully.
[b]Rules and Regulations
1) You must be the original author of the poem(s). PLAGIARISM IS NO LAUGHING MATTER.
2) Maximum of TWO submissions per participant.
3) Submissions are strictly by pm only. After the deadline, I will post all submissions in a thread without the name of the authors. ParticipantsÂ’ identities will only be revealed after the results are out.
4) All submissions must be in latest by 18 September 2005, Sunday.
5) Non-sgforums members are most welcome to participate.
On an additional note there will be two categories in current and future competitions.
In the Open Category members of the public, i.e. you, will get to vote for your favourite poems. The poem with the most votes will be the winner for this category.
In the Judges’ Choice Category members from the judging panel will select a winning poem. The panel will consist of 2 – 3 local/overseas poets and they will take turns in selecting the winning poem. Mr Alvin Pang has kindly agreed to be the judge for the 4th DPS (S) Poetry Writing Competition.
It is highly possible that the same poem is selected for both categories.
I wish to clarify that if your poem is not selected in the JudgesÂ’ Choice Category, it does not mean your poem is not good enough. The judge has the right to select, in his opinion, the best poem among the submissions.
For non-sgforums members, you can send your submissions via email. My email address can be found at my profile (blog). Due to security reasons, attachment will not be entertained.

wow chinese poetry.. i like
i attempted to write once but it turned out like some cheap love song lyrics, and
i know it's really not easy. every chinese character can speak volumes. -
