How would you react?

I recently signed up as a member in a US poetry forum. Upon realizing I am from Singapore (via my self-introduction), someone posted this comment,
“Honorable sir,
Please remember me when you become a world leader. Your humble bow toward the western world most likely goes un-noticed by most. We are, all of us, a meandering stream of un focused lust. Vapid in comparison to the careful movement of your culture. In other words, if i could have invested two cents in your country at it's begining I would own the world today. Every other culture is nothing more than children playing in the sand. Yet we are fun, aren't we?”
If you were me, how would you react?

To be frank I was quite pissed in the beginning.

"Thanks for the warm welcome XXX.
I am not too sure about me becoming a ‘world leader’ or your chances of owing ‘the world today’ by investing two cents in my country at it’s beginning. (Where shall we start? When Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles landed in Singapore back in 1819?)
But since my main intention of participating in this site is to learn the craft of poetry writing, (unless I have mistakenly come to the wrong place) shall we leave politics out of the picture? Nevertheless, XXX being an international forum, I believe it will be a great opportunity to learn something from each otherÂ’s culture.
Looking forward to your generous guidance.

whatever it is, this guy is definitely aware that Singapore is not part of China... he's poking fun at the way Singapore jumped everytime some foreign reporters wrote something critical about the country....

Precisely. I donÂ’t mind having poems that are political in nature. But personally discussing politics in a poetry forum is really not a good idea.
Anyway till now, he has yet to respond to my reply.
