Crazy little maze
There is so much i can say,
if only you believe.
I don't wish to stay that way,
if you only know what it means.
I'm trying to convince myself,
but its harder than it seems.
Don't even know what else,
to do or even think.
I'm looking for the light,
i'm looking for a guide.
Bring me to where you are,
take me to somewhere bright.
Yes i've lost my way,
here's not where i want to stay.
Get me out of here,
To see another day.
Slowly and carefully,
as my guide led me.
To you i hope he brings,
it's you i hope to meet
Yes i've lost the way,
i've lost my way today.
Wanted to get out of here,
this crazy little maze. -
At fist glance, I thought it is a light-hearted poem. But after reading it a few times, I realize that it do have a serious message underlying these simple words. The poet is actually reaching out for help to get out of his present situation, which he/she feels trapped.
Simple in its constructions yet able to portray so much of the poetÂ’s inner world.
What is your interpretation?

No lah....it's not a light-hearted poem or anything...maybe the poet is just having some thoughts and felt lost at the moment of time as to what to do next...start to have questions he don't know how to solve. Not so serious until what feel trapped or something la... just confused maybe, thus the words goes like this and the maze came about. Anyway, there is a mention of a "guide" in the poem...so it shows that it's only a matter of time when he will find the right exit.
You really read all the poems we post a few times and do analysis de huh? Put in effort seah..kekeke :

yeah lor! i feel that DeadPoet really makes the effort to read the poem and understand it. Particularly for my last poem, man. he systematically break it down into parts and analyse it to bits!
really very detailed analysis. makes me feel that my work is appreciated, if not, at least recognised. Kudos DP~ -

But sometimes I may not have time to analysis the poems in details. Beside sgforums I am also involved in a few other forums.
