Tips on how to improve your EL1 and CL2?

  u guys got tips on how to improve your languages...?
  
  I remember my english used to be bad, so what i did was to pick up books and start reading....well, i neglected my mandarin tho..hate it..
  
  so u guys have any tips on improving ur command of these two languages?

  For English, read the newspapers. What the english language teachers are teaching in school is crap.
  
  For Chinese, jiang hua yu more often lah.

  Watch more Chinese movies & listen to Chinese songs. For English, the only way is to read more & listen to BBC

  Yah and stop spelling 'enough' as 'enuff'. In this way, your command of English will get better.

  Watch more MOVIES. Usually best way to speak good proper english would be to read those dreadfully BORING books like Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights etc etc, and learn new words and expressions as you read them.
  
  A better alternative would be the WATCH THE MOVIES of such books, then you will speak good ol Queen's English, which is the fashion now for passing oral El1.
  
  Chinese, just memorise cheng yu and chi huais. Chinese just pass can oredi. My chinese just pass, i did not study at all, no idea how to help Cl1. Get a tuition teacher or watch more channel 8 shows and learn via the english translation.

  Chinese read more and more and more but don't become like me neglect my english then prelims realise I have no idea how to write english essays. Read those chinese books you like... if you like those wuxia xiaoshuo just go library borrow. Will get addicted one. hehe
