Poly or JC?

  Which one of the above will u chose if u are still a student in secondary school now and going to enter either of them soon. Any other alternatives beside these two? Why will u chose them, give some reason.

  tht time results quite k..can go jc or poly
  but if go jc..only go those so-so jcs..
  but if go poly..i can choose any course i wan and my results like consider still not bad
  
  so end up go poly

  if you go JC, have more chances of getting to local uni. but must make sure can get in lah, if not have to go overseas uni etc... then those from poly may get into local uni too. but most went overseas.
  
  assume if you did not get into local uni, then you went to aust to study, compared to your friend who went to poly, then later go to aust to study, at the end of the day, both of you end up at the same place.
  
  make a wise choice, see wat you like.

  I beg to differ. U might gif the wrong impression to him.....Poly is not necessary for students wif poor results. SOme wif all A1s still penned down poly as their 1st choice ya noe. It all goes down to individual preferences. And if poly is ur no. 1 choice, remember to choose the course tt u haf an interest in....tt will make ur poly life real smooth and fun going!
  
  So...the bottomline is to follow ur own interest. Dont be pressured by ur peers....its ur own life ya noe

  i regret to say that in the end, i capitulated to the pressures of parents and went to JC..
  
  one of the silliest things i've done in my life...

  i tend to look at it this way:
  
  go to poly, at the end, get a diploma... and with that, it is something you have learnt which is relevant and a real skill in the real world...
  
  go to JC and you get a-levels... and no real skill relevant in the real world..
  
  and in the end, if you do well enough for both, you can still go to uni...
  
  with diploma, probably you'll get a year's worth of exemptions...
  
  with a-levels, you get no exemptions...
  
  in the long run, it's a better deal going the poly route...
  
  but somehow, my folks refused to see past their own myopia..

  hahaha..go jc better..in my opinion lar..i prefer jc life to poly, although sadly, i'll never experience either.. sigh

  more theoretical, broader education, more rote learning (mabbe not tt true now), more direct path to uni jc
  
  more practical, specific field, more freedom, poly

  Go JC if u like mugging, must be able to handle stress/lots of exams, no life, very long hours. Poly more relax, more hands-on/ project work.
