Is there really such thing as universal brotherhood? Wat is that btw? Is it jus means having friends all round u or wat?

wat is a brotherhood? wat makes a group of people brothers? these are defined differently according to different people and according to different context to achieve different goals
certain people from certain religions have claimed that everyone in the same religion are brothers - they are in a universal brotherhood. yet they murder members of this brotherhood to achieve their own goals, or give excuses when they do so.
so wat is this brotherhood about? just a label? does it truly exist? if so wat binds the people? wat sort of commitment is required to stay in this brotherhood?
in the end, i believe its all a branding for certain purpose. its a vague and nebulous concept and notion that does not truly exist. at least without a common goal and context, it does not really exist. -
