As teenagers, do u think it is necessary for the government to limit the age to 21 to watch R(A) movie?
If no, at what age do u think it is okay to watch R(A) movie? 16? 18? -

i feel this age limit is an excuse. most teens are already exposed to porn thru the net. furthermore it's free...btw quite an number of them are already sex and getting pregnant so well before they even reach 16

18 is fine lah. RA ain't always about sex, sex, sex. It can mean excessive strong language, explicit adult themes and graphic violence. WIth the amount of information presented well before any movie, viewers can make choices at their own discretion. After all, you've been warned.

18 shd be fair enuf......
there are different grades of R(A)......but we jus lump them together.......so there isn't relli any "proper" classification to start with......set as 21.....ppl think too high.......16 still not tt matured leh.....so 18 lah...... -

Another thing I donÂ’t get it is why neighbourhood cinemas cannot screen R(A) shows. Most ppl watching R(A) movie in town are from neighbourhood HDBs, so what is the logic?
Protect us from sex, violence, etc? Give me a break. -

they say with these classifications , we get more fucking variety ! but we still have censorship , all they've done is let you out of a jailcell but left you stranded on a desert island.

It is really kinda a weird case whereby gals legal gal for sexual intercourse is at 16, but then the watchin of R(A) movies is at 21. 5 long yrs between. -

Like it was said....R(A) does not mean sexually explicit material it can also infer extreme violence,strong language and even extreme thinking.The rating is simply to shield mainstream viewers from them.For me? i think it should be...21 or after you have started NS or military service,police or civil defence.In the meantime i forsee alot more shows getting the M18 rating while R(A) will be reserved for extreme case.Maybe even show that were previously banned.The government has already bent to pressure and made an M18 so let's take advantage of thatOriginally posted by `wAwA`:i rem reading the news abt some sec sch students talkin with wad minister of parliament regarding such issues.
